Holiday Scrapbooking

We had a wonderful Christmas celebration yesterday. Seeing my children’s happy faces was more than enough to make the day special. This was the first Christmas that my daughter woke up early. Usually, her aunt and cousins would have called a couple of times to see her before she had even woke up. That was not the case at all this year. I let her open a couple of gifts before her and brother got out of bed today. We installed her drawing tablet on her computer and played with it to kill some time. She has been creating art in Microsoft Paint and we figured it was time to get her a tablet. She has been interested in creating her own animations for quite some time.

I can say this Christmas was a bit different as far as finding gifts for her. I listed to what she wanted and also took note of the things she had been showing interest in throughout the year. Her brother was very excited about his train table. Trucks, cars, trains and boats – all things that ‘go’ – are a big appeal to him. He has been watching way too many Blippy videos on YouTube and even knows some of the songs and episodes from memory. He had my sister and nieces laughing so hard on the phone the other day as he screamed out a song about garbage truck. He is obsessed.

I have not edited the photos from the day yet and I definitely did not get as many as I’d like of certain moments. I just wanted to enjoy those spaces in time… and I did.

These two cuties posed a bit on Christmas Eve in their new pajamas. I was nervous to get the feet in pajamas for baby boy because he is always hot when he sleeps. It did not matter though since he made sure to take it off before getting in bed and slept in his t-shirt. To preserve this moment, I create a layout using a gorgeous scrapbook kit called Christmas Woods by Kristin Cronin-Barrow and Digital Scrapbook Ingredients. If you are interested in having a look at how this layout came together, check out my process video.

Thanks for visiting and happy holidays!
