So, I have been wanting to dive into the Month of Challenges at The Lilypad. If you are looking for a scrapbooking challenge or just need ideas to get your next layout started, you should definitely check them out. Plus, there is a full time Pollywog spot (creative team) up for grabs and some pretty cool prizes. Go here for more details.
Now, I really did not know where to begin, so I randomly chose to start with the January 4th: Clean and Simple Challenge. When I first started digital scrapbooking, I tried to master this look. I made everything very small and only had elements/photos and such in one quarter of the page. Lots of “white” space. White space is the part of your layout where they are no photos or embellishments. It gives things a more clean look. I drifted away from this style of scrapping when I starting printing pages. 8 x 8, especially 12 x 12 prints, made me feel like I was wasting my money have my pages printed especially when there was hardly anything on them. I mean, I barely did any journaling on my pages. So.. as I looked at this challenge I thought and thought and decided I could still have a clean and simple page WITH my story and my photos.
I chose to scrap about the very first meal we had at the Mall of America. I let my husband pick the place (The Pizza Studio) and choose the pizza we would be sharing. It was delicious! To create this layout, I used the following digital products: Prix Fixe | Digital Kit + Journal Cards // In the Loop No. 3 – One Little Bird.
If you decide to check out any of the challenges, please share a link to what you create in the comments. :)
