Inspiration + Love

A couple of layouts to share for the weekend. I really wanted to share a video of the creation of this first layout, but it did not work out. It is for a good reason though. My toddler who usually sleeps like a vampire (during the daytime only) is now sleeping at a more reasonable time. I won’t call it normal because I don’t believe in “normal.” Who really dictates what is normal for your life? Right? Right..lol. So, he is going to bed by 9:30 pm with big sister and I and he wakes any time between 5:30 and 7:00 am and that makes me so happy. Now.. I can’t seem to sleep past 3:30am, but I am still getting more sleep than I have in a while. Not afraid of him jumping ship since this pattern has been going for a little over a week and he actually will say, “I’m sleepy. Mommy come sleep.” I am just going to be positive that he will stay on this path.

On to the layouts…..

This first page was inspired by this layout I found on Pinterest some time ago. Several things about it caught my eye: the background, the letting with the shadow, the translucent mat behind the photo, and the overall clean feel of the layout. I changed things up by adding a few more patterned papers for accent, more photos, and more paint on the background. To create this look, I used a digital kit by Two Tiny Turtles called Sweet Things. This is one page I cannot wait to get printed. I think it really captured the look and feel of what I wanted and definitely depicts her love of  all things related to Valentine’s Day.

In this next layout, I just wanted to keep it simple with layering and using more patterned papers than usual because there were so many I loved in this kit. I used a combination of 2 products: Besties by Kristin Aagard Designs and the new Create Crate Monthly: This Thing Called Love by The Lilypad Designers.

Also, I am working to convert my first layout in this post into a template and share it on the blog this week. So, if you would like to try out a page of your own with a similar or inspired design, look for it coming your way.
