The Fine Print

Another Layout Refreshed

New page to share today. Like an ode to a time when life was simple….not! When has it ever been simple? It would not be life if it was.

I have mentioned before about my bad habit. I try not to go back and look at pages that I have prepped and ready for printing because of it. Sometimes…not all of the time… I am just not pleased with how a layout turned out. Now, I am not one to just sweep that under the rug. I am not going to pay $1.49/$1.99 to print a page unless I am happy with it. You live and you learn, right? So, that brings me to this page:

There are still things that I do like about it – the background, the paper choices, the photo placement. What didn’t I like? Let’s make a quick list: the journaling font, the heavy cluster of flowers and buttons, and my photo choices. Sometimes I will edit an extra photo for a page just to see how it will look and I did not do that this time around. The cluster – I actually was not sure about it as I made it and put it on the page. I remember restarting this page a second time around and just did not know what I wanted to change or what to do with it, so I just left it. Most times I opt to work through it and if I think about it again later, it will come to me… and it did…at least I think so.

For the updated look, I used a new collaboration kit by Studio Basic Designs and Lauren Grier, There’s No Place Like Home. The stitches around the edges are by Katie Pertiet. The worn overlay used for the yellow paper under the photo is by Valorie Wibbens.  Her worn overlays are one of my go-to digital products.

That’s about it from me for now. I have taken my time over this past week trying the print-and-cut feature again with my Silhouette Cameo. I have my page set up and now I just need to print a photo and put it all together. Of course, I will share that whole experience at a later date.

Have a good weekend!
