Like It’s Golden

On a recent post, I mentioned my love for gold elements in scrapbooking. For a while, I did not really like anything with gold or glitter but I saw different things in different places that started to change my mind little by little. I have been wanting to incorporate this trend in my own pages and finally started to try it out. A few pages where I tried it out can be found on these posts:

Yesterday, I experimented with some gold textures I found on Deviant Art and created a word art with the word Love and my favorite free font League Gothic. I also used the same technique on the circle-shaped mat that is behind the “it runs in the family” word art. I had to play around with dodge and burn and a gradient overlay to get the result I wanted. I am sure I will be experimenting more but I love how it turned out.

To create this page, I used the following digital items:

As you can tell, I am all over the web when it comes to my scrapbook pages. I have a look in my mind and I just have to find out how to achieve it on my own. Finding a quick and easy way is okay too but sometimes I just like to know for myself.

Also, there are a couple of new photos up of my munchkin. Taking photos of her before and/or after school has definitely been one of those things to ease us into this change. We still get to be a little silly with the camera even in the midst of staying with our routine. Hopefully, later today I will have my Friday Faves post for September completed with some of my favorite creative things and more. [icon name=”icon-smile”] I can’t wait to share! TGIF…..Happy Friday!!
