I am pretty sure this is the cutest photo ever. It was the first day of the 2015-2016 school year and my baby girl was beginning her 2nd grade journey. We had a great summer. We relaxed at home and she got a chance to get in a lot of bonding time with her little brother. Then, in July, we made the trip to Georgia and Alabama to see our family that we were all missing terribly. That last month of summer was spent pretty much just enjoying the sunshine and freedom of our schedule (i.e. sleeping in late, going to bed late, taking our time going places). By the time September rolled around, my little girl was getting nervous about school and the prospect of 2nd grade. On the other side of it, she was excited to see all of her old friends and anxious to meet new ones. My favorite thing about school has always been the back-to-school shopping. The chance to pick out my own supplies in fun colors was just so neat to me, and I tried to give her a little of that too.
This year they put extra supplies in bins for the class to share, but she now keeps her individual supplies at her desk. She was so happy when she found that out! I am pretty sure she filled up her pink sparkly pencil pouch with as many pencils as she could. Her school is following the same trend as the year before and keeping all of the kids in her class with a tree nut allergy in one classroom. Their teacher also made sure to give them lockers closest to the classroom, so she can keep an eye on them since their classmates can have peanut/tree nut items in their lunches. We are just hitting the 2-month mark of school being in and so far, so good.
I also got the chance to scrap a few photos from the first day of school using Just Jaimee’s new storyteller collection, Luka, for November. I love, love, love the colors in this collection and can see it being used a number of different ways. This first page was also created using a fun template by Jimbo Jambo Designs called Jump on the Bandwagon.
Per my usual habit, I added a few more photo spots to the template. There were a couple of photos I needed to include to really get the story told the way that I want.
Thanks for visiting!
