Day 2: I am thankful for discovering scrapbooking – digital and paper. The first album I made was with some items I picked up at a local retailer. A little later I decided to give digital a try. I fell in love with digital and have been ‘saving’ my memories this way for the past 5 years. Now, after a lot of inspiration from my FB feed and numerous galleries, I have come full circle and trying my hand at paper/traditional scrapbooking again. Either way, it is a hobby that I still enjoy and it has been quite a journey.
Speaking of scrapbooking…. On the first Saturday of November, a celebration occurs for Digital Scrapbooking Day (DSD). There are sales, chats, prizes, games and challenges. I still remember my first DSD. I was overwhelmed and ecstatic. I had saved up money to buy all of those items I put on a wishlist for a later date. I stalked Twitter, Facebook and forums for all of the news of the weekend. This year has been a bit different. I still want that fun and overwhelming excitement I had the first time. Without that, what is the point? I was telling a friend today I need to find some challenges or something to get into. I ended up playing school with my daughter and some other things, so it was still a good day. Just a different DSD than I have had in the past. This year I was looking around at the posting of sales and realized that I already create for all of my favorite designers. Sweet Shoppe and The Lilypad have always been my “dream” stores and I am grateful to be a part of such wonderful teams. What else does a girl need? This is one of my favorite pages from the weekend.

- Template: Single 29 – lots of snapshots 5 – Cindy Schneider
- Best Christmas Ever Collection – Lauren Grier, Shawna Clingerman + Studio Basic

I really had been wanting to scrap these photos from last year’s Christmas and this collection was right on time. The colors were bright and just perfect for what I wanted. I definitely love seeing more fun and not-so-traditional colors in a Christmas kit.
Thanks for visiting!
