More and more these days I see “about me” pages more frequently. When I first started scrapbooking, I would not have dared to think of making a page about myself or something on my mind. Then I began to think, “why not.” Why can’t I create a page about my mood or a happy moment I had? This is probably one thing I have began to enjoy because it has pushed me just a bit more. I am not a very open person. It is hard for me to put certain things out there… especially when it comes to my view on life. Some would probably see it as morbid or too real. I have never been one of those “glass half full” people. I tend to be a realist…sometimes to a fault… maybe. I think I mentioned in a previous post that I found an 8 x 8 album and a box of page protectors. I have decided to use this for my “about me” album. I have some digital credits and I have plans to dabble with paper scrapbooking. I have two pages to share today – one is digital and one is paper.
This first page was done with the latest collaboration by some of the amazing designers at The Lilypad. I loved it when I saw it and knew exactly what photos I wanted to use. I bought some scarves from Forever 21 and have been playing around with them. I had just twisted my hair for a twist out the next day and needed to go to the store, so this style was what I came up with after watching a few videos.

This next page I created a couple of days ago. I have been collecting paper goodies little by little and could not wait to create with them. My mind set was very different when I started this page. Here are a few differences that dawned on me as I was creating this page:
- I am more cautious of what I use on a paper page.
- It takes more time but it is more relaxing. It was nice to get away from the computer. My eyes were relieved.
- I was kind of happy to have an actual finished product in my hand.
- I need to learn more techniques…YouTube here I come! (lol!)
- It is harder to achieve what I see in my mind and translate it to paper.
- I need to have a plan before starting a page…and not just choosing the photos.
So….. umm…this is my first page. I think I liked how it turned out. I did think of some other things to try next time around but I was pretty happy with the result.

One thing I did find that is going to a pain for me – straight lines. I have one of the Fiskars paper trimmers and it does well holding the paper in place and getting a clean cut but to me it still does not look straight. I know it is my eyes most of the time. It is still a little annoying. Working with a digital page, there is no guess work or worrying about straight lines. Oh! My handwriting…I need to practice before writing on my actual layout. I might even trying printing out some journaling beforehand. I think that is on my list for next time. I used to love writing but now at 29… it seems I am writing at an angle…lol! Either way… I enjoyed it and that’s all that matters.
Now I am off to find a Halloween costume for little miss. She wants to be a ninja, a fairy princess or a rock kitty. I have seen one of each that I like, so it will just be a matter of picking one that I think will be fun and that she can continue to play with for dress up at home. We shall see. Wish me luck!
