Most holidays or big moments it takes time for me to scrap. For whatever reason, creating my Christmas pages comes a little easier. There is less pressure to worry about a color scheme or looking for a certain kit because the color palette range is not as broad.
The page I am sharing today is one where I used more traditional colors. For the background, I created a grouping of squares, rotated them and stretched them across my canvas in Photoshop and I chose different papers to clip to each one. I chose my photos and added them to the page and from there, I started adding embellishments. My process differs from page to page for various reasons. It just depends on how inspired I am by the kit or the photos or both. I really loved the papers in this set, so I was really anxious to use them. Plus, that adorable deer stamp caught my eye and I decided to use it as an overlay on one of my blocks. Totally unrelated, but my daughter’s Christmas PJs this year has a similar deer with ornaments hanging from its antlers. So cute!
I did not want the page to look too busy but I had to use those beautiful snowflakes and have a bit of layering. The digital goodies I used to create this page include:
- A Very Merry Month Misc. + A Very Merry Month Papers by Amy Wolff
- St. Nicholas Elements by Amber LaBau
If you would like to put your own spin on my page design, you can! I have a free template for download. I really wanted to do a 12 days of Christmas series but this one took me longer than I would like to admit. One day I will have some time to myself to do more of these things. Anyhow, for now, please enjoy this on me and look for more on Fridays. Probably every other Friday is realistic but I will more than likely give a heads up or share a work in progress during the week.
