Late last night we arrived back home in Wisconsin. We spent the entire week with our family between Georgia and Alabama. It has been awhile since we have celebrated a holiday with family. Usually, Denard, Aida, and I would go to my mom’s house for a nice, quiet and fun celebration. This time we made a 13 hour drive to my sister’s home. She and my brother-in-law hosted a barbecue for family and friends. We had a great time. I got to see people I had not seen in years. I was very excited to spend some time with my 14-and-16-year old nieces. We text a little and Facetime a lot, but there is nothing like face-to-face. Aida was beyond happy and excited. Brayden took to everyone perfectly. My sister and her girls and my mom have been calling him on Facetime since he was born. I was hopeful that he would recognize their voices and faces. After making a few scrunchy-nose faces at them, he went right to them.
Baby girl told me there was one thing she wanted when we headed down south, and that was to meet all of her cousins. She did not get to see them all but there were plenty for her to get to know. Of course, she was not ready to head back to WI. I think once we got home she felt better. She and her brother screamed and jumped on the sofa when they got inside.
I still have lots of photos to convert, so there will be lots to share soon enough. Right now, I have the insane need to scrapbook. I have missed it so much. I was in a bit of a lull before the trip but that is definitely over. I am working on a new blogsite. I have a notebook where I have been keeping ideas and I am trying my best to bring those to reality as much as I can.
