Scrapbooking school moments are a must for me. It’s fun to record the events of the school year, so we can look back at the year and see how much our baby girl has grown. This year she started fifth grade and I created a layout to document the moment. This was the first year I didn’t print and laminate her a sign. She said she was okay with not having one. She seems over this photo thing. I had to beg her for a photo before we left that morning. As I went through the other pages, I could not find one where I scrapped her third grade photos from the first day. That was her last year at school in Wisconsin and I tried to document every thing before we left.
At the bottom of this post I will link to previous years scrapbook layouts relating to school. For some reason, I cannot find the one for first day of fourth grade, so here is the layout I created with her first day photos. I made her banner a little differently last year. I have been collecting so many glorious freebies from Creative Market and really wanted to use them. Plus, the flower collage was a new trend at the time and I really wanted to use that as inspiration and it helps that her shirt had embroidered flowers on it, too. I had a lot of fun creating a layout to go along with the feel of her mini poster. She loves colors, and especially when she can have a lot of bright colors altogether.

Back to third grade, I wanted to create a layout using her school photo. This was probably the first year I bought them and was excited to do so. I take many great photos of my children myself, so it takes a lot for me to purchase the ones at the school. For this set, I purchased the package with wallets and a few 5x7s that included a digital high resolution version of the photo. That way I could edit and scrapbook it as I pleased.
The inspiration for this page came from this gorgeous page I found in the gallery. Sometimes I need direction and inspiration and Floramfarkas’ gallery is giving me all the life. To create my digital layout, I used a lovely new kit from Kelly Bangs Creative and Libby Pritchett called I Heart School available at Sweet Shoppe Designs.When I saw the color palette, it immediately reminded me of these photos. I love when the perfect kit comes along for a photo, and this was definitely that.
